Dear Audience... I can't help it. I keep doing it. It's not like it's planned... a craving just comes over me. I don't know what to do. Both nights in Bologna, Todd and I went to dinner at (what we think is) the best Italian restaurant in Bologna... Nonna Della Rosa's. It was food that was such good quality, great atmosphere and reasonably priced... Where else can you find this in Italy... very few places it turns out! At the end of the meal the waiter puts a bottle of Lemoncello (Italian sweet/very strong digestive alcohol) and you can help yourselves! We loved the wine that is specifically made for this restaurant, so we took two bottles with us... only 11 euros each! Not even $20AUD and it is GOOD!

Todd's main - Fetta di Manzo con Sale Grosso e Rosmario... mmmmm. |
 |
The meals were just fantastic! |

The best Balsamic I've ever tasted!!! |
 |
Todd had to be convinced that we needed dessert on our second visit...(!) |
 |
I, however, needed no such convincing... (surprise!) |
Bologna was lovely, and although it turned out to be a place of relaxation rather than sight seeing, it was great to stop for a while and just enjoy our time going by. The hotel was 70's perfection... we even had a bar in the room (unfortunately not stocked!).
We've now moved on to Rimini, and rather than taking the main highway, we've elected to travel one of the smaller roadways. It is certainly still a main thoroughfare, however allows us to pass through some of the main towns on the way. I suppose you'd call it the 'scenic route' and indeed it is. Todd and I stopped at a pasticceria (pastry shop) which was beautiful! For 3 euros we had coffee, water and a sweeterie! Cheap cheap!
The countryside is simply stunning, and although it's taking a little longer to get between places, (also because we occasionally get lost) it's well worth it. Today we are heading out for a day trip to San Marino (independent micro state) and hope to do some duty free shopping. I'm not sure how this will be accomplished, as our suit cases are already fatter even though we haven't really bought very much. Todd and I have decided that we must just be packing them inefficiently... what do you think? ;)

Looks like you are having a great time - left you some boring work goss on your FB inbox! Missing you - keep eating and drinking and enjoying! Kylie and Tylah xo
Hey Dan! Lots of feeding and drinking - making me salivate. It must be said however that if I were ever to imagine what a poo on a plate would look like, that first dish would have to be it! Keep enjoying! mwa
Wow, that food looks really good. And a trip to a microstate sounds spectacular. Maybe you could post some stuff back?
Oh Ju!!! That is so yuck!!! The poor quality of my mobile phone camera doesn't do these dishes, (or Todd's complexion) any justice.
Al... I think posting may be necessary, however I find it difficult to trust the Italian post system... we might have to wait and take advantage of Royal Mail. I suspect Todd will prefer this course of action too! Haha!
